Each subject has specializations you can drill into. If you don't see what you need, you can suggest a new subject and our team will review it.
Kind Social offers a voluntary verification system to help parents and students feel safe. Tutors can earn a "Validated" badge ($25) by submitting a government-issued photo ID (front and back). For even greater peace of mind, tutors can earn a "Safety Certified" badge ($75) by completing a professional background check powered by Checkr — the same service used by major companies. These badges are displayed prominently on search results and profiles so you always know who's been verified.
Absolutely. When setting up your teaching profile, you choose whether to offer online sessions, in-person sessions, or both. Students can filter search results by their preferred mode and search for local tutors by city and radius (1–50 miles).
It's easy! Sign up for a free Kind Social account, visit the Learning & Tutoring app, and click "Sign Up to Teach." Fill in your subjects, set your availability, write a short bio, and you're live. You can optionally set an hourly rate or offer sessions for free. You can start accepting students immediately — no approval process required.
Sessions use secure Jitsi Meet video calls — no downloads or account required. Once a session is confirmed by both parties, a "Join Call" button appears for both the tutor and the student. Sessions can be scheduled in advance through the built-in calendar system.
If you can't find the right tutor, you can post a Learning Request describing what you want to learn, your preferred schedule, and whether you want online or in-person sessions. Tutors browse these requests and can reach out to schedule sessions with you. It's like a job board, but for learning!
Yes. Kind Social takes safety seriously. Every tutor profile has a Report button. Reports are immediately reviewed by our safety team and trigger automated alerts to administrators. We also use AI-powered content moderation across the platform to keep interactions kind and safe.
Kind Social was designed with families in mind. Parents can create child accounts with parental controls, content filtering, friend approval, and time restrictions. Combined with our background-checked tutor badges and reporting system, it's one of the safest tutoring platforms available.
Learning & Tutoring is for personalized 1-on-1 sessions between a single tutor and student. Live Classes is a separate app for group instruction — think yoga classes, cooking workshops, or coding bootcamps with multiple participants. Both are available on Kind Social.
